About this work

Inspired by a baroque symphony, Winter is a 120 × 80 cm acrylic on canvas that immortalises a dramatic choice: while the dark flock gets lost in the vortexes of the icy blizzard, one red bird knows exactly where it is heading. Each of Oksana Krużołek's dynamic brushstrokes and sharp scratches heightens that determination, turning the opposing course into an abstract manifesto of freedom at the heart of the icy element.
